NOTD: Julep 'Daria' and SOPI 'Traffic Stopper Copper'

Hello, Internet.  I'm back!  I didn't plan on taking a month long hiatus, but I've seriously had the month from HELL.  Like, it was really bad.  I can't even begin to explain how I've been feeling lately, but the short version is that I was starting to feel like I was losing control over my life.  I'm still not even sure where all of my anxiety was coming from, but I know it started with my work and then just kind of overflowed into everything else.  I even had a vacation and saw DEPECHE MODE but remained so stressed that it kind of just came and went.  (They sounded awesome though.)  I got some good news this week, and I'm finally starting to feel like myself again.  Things will definitely remain crazy going into the holiday season, but I think I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get through it.  Woo hoo!
Anyways, on a lighter note, I really like this combo of grey and copper I've been wearing this week.  Julep's Daria is from the September Cityscape collection.  My last grey crème dried up on me because I left it in my car and the bottle swelled or something weird like that, so I'm glad to have another one.  I forgot how neat grey looks under a pretty topcoat!  I got Traffic Stopper Copper in my Sephora by OPI clearance haul.  Enjoy!

Can you see how gorg it was outside this morning?

NOTD: OPI 'Pink Yet Lavender' and Sation 'Of Corset I'll Call You'

Goooood morning!  I wore OPI's Pink Yet Lavender over Sation's Of Corset I'll Call You a few weeks ago.  I've been awake since 5:45AM, so I figured I should catch up on some NOTD photos I have in my queue!  Pink Yet Lavender is packed with holographic glitter and large pink hex glitter.  Not lavender glitter.  I don't get the name, but the polish is super sparkly!

OOTD: Tropical Punch

It took me a whole three weeks to come up with a punny title for this Outfit of the Day, which is about how long it's been since we've had normal, hot weather that you would expect for Florida in late spring.  Seriously, what the hell is going on?  It was COLD and windy outside last night.  It is May 7th and I am without a tan.  GEEZ.  Anyways, tropical prints are usually popular around summertime, so here is my take on the trend!

'Drop Dead Diva' is Un-Canceled!

I guess I said everything in the title of this post!  Looks like Lifetime has reconsidered their decision to cancel "Drop Dead Diva" and it will be returning for a fifth season!  The only bad news is that I don't have cable, ha ha.  I'm still waiting for Season 4 on Netflix, but at least now I know I won't just be left with a cliffhanger at the end.  Yaaaaay.  You can read my original post about the cancellation here.

Yaaaaaaaaaaay!
Here's an article about the return of "Drop Dead Diva" on USAToday's website.  See you next time!

Lifetime is on my SHIT LIST!

Hello, everyone!  Phew!  Another week just flew by.  Sorry for the mini blogging break, but I just finished a seven-days-with-no-day-off stint at work.  I was going to blog about my "Guilty Pleasures" today, but when I was googling my favorite show, "Drop Dead Diva," I found out that Lifetime CANCELED the show a few days ago.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  (Ha ha, there is a Viagra ad on this page.)

My Last OOTD?

I have some really bad news!  We are going to UNIFORMS at work.  I'm all about being a team player, but I am NOT happy!  This probably won't really be my last outfit post, but I'm going to have to work a little bit harder at it since it looks like I have to wear the same fugly button down shirt to work everyday.  I guess I'll have to actually start changing out of my softies when I am off work.  Daaaang.  Anyways, here is my new dress from Simply Be!

Friday Rants and... Rants!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been the best blogger this week.  Black Friday is coming up, and things have been getting pretty chaotic at work.  I haven't gotten to wear any cute clothes either because I needed to wear pants and jeans to dig around in the stockroom!  So no outfit posts this week, which makes me sad.  The good news is I've been stalking this pleather skirt and awesome sweater that finally went on clearance!  And it's all going to be under $20!  I'm getting them this weekend.  You'll probably see them next week.  I'm super pumped.  Anyways, now I'm going to unleash some rants!

  1. Dead Sea Spa kiosks at the mall.  Why have you added another kiosk on the other side of the food court so that now either way I go I have to have an uncomfortable exchange with you?  I am simply trying to get a drink or snack on my break.  You see me several times a week and know I work in the mall, yet you insist on trying to slather some lotion on my hand and ask me what I use to moisturize my face.  I'm not going to suddenly change my mind and decide it is a good deal to spend between $40-$70 dollars or whatever price you decide to try and sell me on that day.  I don't like being a jerk to you guys every day so please stop.
  2. Why are less than average looking guys allowed to be leading men on TV and in movies but women are not?  And they always have super hot wives or girlfriends, but it's never the other way around?  I understand Jack Black and Will Ferrell are funny and that's what they are famous for, but why doesn't the media ever make a big deal about their weight or looks like they would Melissa McCarthy or Rebel Wilson?  I mean, Melissa McCarthy has a show, which is cool for her, but the whole plot is based on her relationship with a fat guy she met at Overeaters Anonymous???  WTF???
  3. Pedestrians in Gainesville.  If you walk in front of my car while it is in motion, I may not stop.  And quite frankly it is very distracting.  I'm all wondering if you're going to stop or keep going, because only an idiot would just totally walk into oncoming traffic.  But then I remember where I am, and I'm like, oh shit I better get ready to brake.  And then I'm all mad that I braked for you, because that could've caused an accident and I don't want to encourage people to walk in front of my car again.  It's kind of like standing in a crowded line, and for some reason people always want to cut through but only right in front of me.  That always happens to me and is also annoying!
  4. Blogger.  Some people reading this might think that I don't know how to use a computer.  Maybe I don't because I can't figure out why Blogger randomly decides to center some of my text when I want everything aligned on the left, or why some of my pictures have one line of space between them and others have like five lines between them for no reason.  Or I'll be typing and the size of the text will just change.  I know I'm not the most well spoken Blogger, but I work hard on this blog and it's really challenging when I spend like 25 minutes trying to align all my text only to hit "Publish" and see that everything is all over the place!
  5. Adam Levine.  You are not hot and your band sucks.  I hate hearing eight mediocre Maroon 5 songs everyday at work... Not that there's a non-mediocre Maroon 5 song because there is not.  First, I had to watch this smug asshole on Access Hollywood the other night.  Then he was on Anderson Cooper.  And then this came in the mail:
I HATE YOU!
By the way, it just took me 15 minutes to get this image to post UNDER the text instead of at the top of this post!  Blogger, you are so frustrating!

That's all for now.  See you next time!

Rants and... Rants!

Hey guys!  I realized I've been doing a lot of photo heavy posts about make-up and clothes and such, so I decided to do something completely different today!  Rants and... Rants!  I was going to do some raves, but I feel like I've raved all week, and frankly I just want to bitch for a couple minutes.

  1. Did anyone else notice that all the Christmas commercials instantly started on October 31st?  I was wanting to say something about this last week, but it never came up in any of my other posts.  I mean, I get it.  I work in retail.  Hell, if I could rave about one thing, it would be that the store I work in actually held off of the Christmas decorating through October 31st.  But seriously, I saw that Hershey's Kisses commercial where they make the candies play "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" like five times on Halloween.  And then I was mad because I wanted some Hershey Kisses.  All I'm saying is, just let me enjoy one holiday before another one is being shoved down my throat.  Cause I'm not ready for all the stress yet!
  2. Why do clothes have so much stretch that they're hanging off of me at the end of the day?  Today I wore jeans to work that I could barely fit my crotch in when I was getting dressed, but by the time I got out of the car at the mall, I was having to hold them up around my waist.  And my shirt was the same way.  I put on a solid color, fitted crew neck tee shirt, and it was like a tunic by lunchtime.  Grrrrrr.  I'm going to get some pajama jeans at Walgreens because at least you know you're wearing elastic jeans that are going to look totally silly.
  3. Why do super groomed muscled guys insist on getting the shittiest tattoos ever?   I keep seeing dudes on TV trying to how off their hot abs and then there's a yin yang on an ab and I'm all "eeewwww".  That's a complete waste of time to even try to fix that with a chiseled six pack.  Have another Dorito Loco taco, bro!
  4. Why is this blond bitch on TV always singing about the pink lemonade 5 Hour Energy Drink?  Whoever is in charge of their ad campaign must think women are idiots.  I get so pissed every time she comes on.  She has a PINK guitar, and her PINK 5 Hour Energy Drinks, and then the worst part is when she tells you part of your purchase will go towards breast cancer.  That stuff probably causes cancer!  And don't even get me started on what I think about Breast Cancer campaigns.  I love girly things.  I've posted like five things in the past two weeks about nail polish.  I'm kind of a sucker for commercials.  But just because you turn something pink and make a donation to breast cancer (research? survivors? clinics?) doesn't mean I'm going to be all about it.  And I like energy drinks.  But that stuff tastes like shit and makes me feel like I'm on crack.
  5. Drivers in Gainesville.  That's all I'm going to say.
See you next time!
