Fall Garden

It must finally feel like fall because my hands and lips are chapped like crazy.  Well, as much as it can feel like fall in Florida, I guess.  The lack of seasons down here is a little frustrating, but the silver lining is that you can have a colorful garden year round!  I'm so not a serious gardener, and the best way to describe my yard is "whimsical," but I still took some pretty pictures this morning I would like to share!
That's lavender under the window, to the left.  When the wind blows, Huckle can smell it!

Embracing the Cat Lady in Me

It was National Cat Day a few days ago, or at least that's what the Internet told me.  I just wanted to share some photos of my cat lady house since I haven't really shared a lot of "house tour" photos in the past.  There's some cat themed treasure everywhere you look around here.  I also included some vintage photos of Mina, Holly, and Huckle.  Enjoy!

NOTD: Julep 'Daria' and SOPI 'Traffic Stopper Copper'

Hello, Internet.  I'm back!  I didn't plan on taking a month long hiatus, but I've seriously had the month from HELL.  Like, it was really bad.  I can't even begin to explain how I've been feeling lately, but the short version is that I was starting to feel like I was losing control over my life.  I'm still not even sure where all of my anxiety was coming from, but I know it started with my work and then just kind of overflowed into everything else.  I even had a vacation and saw DEPECHE MODE but remained so stressed that it kind of just came and went.  (They sounded awesome though.)  I got some good news this week, and I'm finally starting to feel like myself again.  Things will definitely remain crazy going into the holiday season, but I think I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get through it.  Woo hoo!
Anyways, on a lighter note, I really like this combo of grey and copper I've been wearing this week.  Julep's Daria is from the September Cityscape collection.  My last grey crème dried up on me because I left it in my car and the bottle swelled or something weird like that, so I'm glad to have another one.  I forgot how neat grey looks under a pretty topcoat!  I got Traffic Stopper Copper in my Sephora by OPI clearance haul.  Enjoy!

Can you see how gorg it was outside this morning?
See you next time!

Just for Fun!

*Sigh.*  I have about ten minutes before I have to start getting ready for work AGAIN.  I'm so tired of work!  (I'm not always like this, but we've had inventory, two holidays, and now two corporate visits to prepare for over the last month.  Aargh.)  I spent some time in the backyard this morning with my kitty, Mina.  So here's a break from nail polish and subscription boxes.  Take a deep breath, and enjoy!  And do something fun today if you are not working like me.  Grrr.
Mean Bean.

NOTD: OPI 'Pussy Galore'

Is anyone getting tired of the textured polish trend yet?  I have to admit that I'm kind of over it, but I couldn't resist picking up four of the new Bond Girls Liquid Sand polishes from OPI, especially Pussy Galore.  I love me some double entendres!  And I have the sense of humor of a thirteen year old boy.

NOTD: OPI 'Pink Yet Lavender' and Sation 'Of Corset I'll Call You'

Goooood morning!  I wore OPI's Pink Yet Lavender over Sation's Of Corset I'll Call You a few weeks ago.  I've been awake since 5:45AM, so I figured I should catch up on some NOTD photos I have in my queue!  Pink Yet Lavender is packed with holographic glitter and large pink hex glitter.  Not lavender glitter.  I don't get the name, but the polish is super sparkly!

I've Been Nominated for a Liebster Award!

Hey guys!  As you know, I am fairly new to the blogosphere, and I learn new things everyday creating Three Cats and a Lady.  Drunken Beauty has nominated little 'ole me for a Liebster Award, which is given to blogs with less than 200 followers and helps us expand our readership and our presence in the blogosphere!  Take a moment to check out her blog; this gal has seen Duran Duran 25 times, loves booze, and has a some badass nail polish!  So in my mind, we should be besties.  Ha ha.

Window Shopping: Depeche Mode Edition

Why, hello there!  Three more days until the new Depeche Mode album!  The French words "depeche mode" translate to "fast fashion" in English, and Depeche Mode and their fans definitely have a certain aesthetic.  I've been playing around with ideas of what my look will be when I see them in September; I love getting ideas on the Internet and then trying to find cheaper dupes that are more within my budget!

Most of the items here are inspired by the Depeche Mode 101/Music for the Masses era.  I've included some images for a point of reference, but if you've never seen Depeche Mode 101, I highly recommend it, especially with commentary.  I bet you can rent it from Netflix.

Depeche Mode 101 awesomeness.  (The pic on the top left may be from the Violator era, though.)

Random Life in Photos

Happy Friday!  How 'bout some random photos that never made it into blog posts?  Enjoy!

I think I took this during an outfit post, but I never used it.  I don't know why; this is one of my favorite selfies!

'Drop Dead Diva' is Un-Canceled!

I guess I said everything in the title of this post!  Looks like Lifetime has reconsidered their decision to cancel "Drop Dead Diva" and it will be returning for a fifth season!  The only bad news is that I don't have cable, ha ha.  I'm still waiting for Season 4 on Netflix, but at least now I know I won't just be left with a cliffhanger at the end.  Yaaaaay.  You can read my original post about the cancellation here.

Yaaaaaaaaaaay!
Here's an article about the return of "Drop Dead Diva" on USAToday's website.  See you next time!

OOTD: VBL

Lately, I've been experimenting a little with clothing and my own comfort level, mainly because I bought two fatkinis and now I'm totally freaked out about wearing them this summer!  I wore a skirt last Friday knowing that my belly line was outlined, but hey, I liked the skirt.  Unfortunately, those photos did not turn out, but I did have another outfit that I did not post back in January because I wasn't ready then to unleash my stomach on the internets!

Lifetime is on my SHIT LIST!

Hello, everyone!  Phew!  Another week just flew by.  Sorry for the mini blogging break, but I just finished a seven-days-with-no-day-off stint at work.  I was going to blog about my "Guilty Pleasures" today, but when I was googling my favorite show, "Drop Dead Diva," I found out that Lifetime CANCELED the show a few days ago.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  (Ha ha, there is a Viagra ad on this page.)

Hey guys!  I haven't done one of these in a while.  Here are some pictures that I took over the last week and a half that didn't quite make it into any blog posts!

About Me

Hi!  I'm Kendall, and I write Three Cats and a Lady!  I like to blog about my fiscally challenged life with my three furbabies Mina, Holly, and Huckle.  I enjoy sharing photos of plus size fashion, make up and nail polish hoarding, and I also post snippets of cat life, meals I've cooked, and places I've gone.

It's like I'm in a TV!

I am a pescetarian in my late twenties.  I grew up in Athens, GA but currently live in Gainesville, FL.  I work in retail, so I spend my day looking at clothes, which I like, and talking to obnoxious mall customers, which I don't like!  I am a lazy crafter that dabbles in a little bit of everything, but I especially enjoy paper crafts.  Part of the reason that I started this blog is to help motivate me to complete more craft projects!

I mention Depeche Mode a lot in Three Cats and Lady because I love them!  Depeche Mode has been my favorite band since I was fourteen, and I am heavily influenced by them.  I generally like 80s and 90s alternative music, pretty much everything on this website.  I also love Prince and I not so secretly want to be in the New Power Generation.  So badly.

The dress on the right is on simplybe.com.  In this scenario, that is what I would wear if I were in NPG.  And I would be like "D to the I to the A to the M.  O to the N to the D to the pearls of love."  That's Prince on the left.

I started Three Cats and a Lady as a journal for myself, and to meet like minded people in the blogosphere.  I can't wait to share ideas and be inspired by yours!

Thanks for stopping by!
